PrintCity helps new tech startup, Xpllore, prototype new casing for its VR device

PrintCity has worked with new tech start-up, Xpllore, to rapidly prototype a customised housing for a virtual reality (Hub) XR1, to operate its cloud-based platform.

Having determined the best 3D printing technology and materials for the products’ application, PrintCity reviewed the design, attached parts together and printed them. Xpllore used the prototype XR1 Hub to launch the product in January 2019 at Cisco Live in Barcelona.

“We can’t believe that our prototype is now built and in our hands. It’s incredible that we can design and 3D print so quickly and the response so far has been overwhelming.”

Chris Guerin, Chief Executive Officer and founder at Xpllore
