On the 9th of December 2025, we were delighted to have the opportunity to teach Autodesk Fusion and about 3D Printing Year 10 students of UTC MediaCity. We started the day with giving the students a tour around PrintCity and how they can apply 3D Printing in real life scenarios. This was a great way to encourage them to think about their professional career or future subject choices.
To start off, the students learnt the basic tools of Autodesk Fusion such as Create Sketch, Extrude, Pipe and Revolve which helped them get a hang of how the software works. In order to deepen their understanding, we then helped them create and render a drink flask. This came with its own challenges which we overcame with problem solving skills.
Lastly, the students applied their learning through a Design Challenge where they had to create anything that could hold water. We were amazed by the designs they came up with which were creative. This made it a tough decision for us to decide the winners. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience for all of us and we got to build our collaborative skills and at the end of the day, the students walked out with a new passion for creativity.
