Polyjet
PrintCity received the UK’s first Stratasys J850 Prime FabriX Polyjet printer in 2023. This technology works by depositing small droplets of resin which are cured by Ultraviolet Light (UV) during the printing process.
With the addition of the FabriX Innovation Kit it allows the exploration of printing onto fabric and flexible substrates to create items such as functional apparel prototypes, wearable electronics, and embedded mesh designs.
With this kit the machine can continue top produce both 3D model parts and 3D print onto flexible, flat substrates. Applications for this technology include, haute couture, embedded electronics, consumer goods and automotive concepts.
The technology provides over 600,000 colours, Pantone® Validated palettes and translucent colour tints. The J850 also prints in a flexible material; Agilus 30™ alongside rigid transparency materials; Vero Clear and VeroUltra™Clear, rigid opaque colour materials; VeroUltra™ and a soluble support material SUP706B™.
