Scanning

PrintCity currently has a variety of 3D scanning technologies in its facility. When looking for a scanning solution there can be many obstacles such as time, size, and location, PrintCity is able to cover these bases by providing a range of 3D scanning options.

Artec Leo 

Leo, by Artec 3D is a wireless handheld professional 3D scanner. It allows the capture of a variety of data, from stand-alone parts to the entire assembly. It has been used within industry to capture rooms and buildings or just the objects within them. 

During the scanning process there are real-time scanning hints to aid in capturing accurate data. A distance colour map, AI powered removal of unwanted surfaces and a surface quality indicator, in addition to the pause and resume functionality. 

The Leo is best utilised when capturing medium to large sized objects

Hexagon Romer Absolute Arm 7320SI 

The Absolute Arm is a 7-Axis solution to probing and laser scanning. It is capable of high-accuracy touch probing as well as high-end scanning making it a multifunctional measuring piece of technology. 

PrintCity predominately uses the Absolute Arm for laser scanning purposes utilising the Absolute Scanner AS1. It is capable of none contact laser scanning with a measurement accuracy to within 50 microns for large scale scanning and within 43 microns for smaller scale scanning.

EinScan 

Both models of the EinScan technologies at PrintCity come equipped with turntables allowing for automated one-click scanning of objects. The EinScan-SP range can also be used for manual scanning with the use of a tripod. 

EinScan uses structured light technology to collect detailed surface geometries along with their textures.
