Karl Badkin

Im a graduate in Computer Games Design and with over 10 years of industry experience within social media management, e-commerce and digital content production. I’ve recently started studying Industrial Digitalisation at Print City, MMU to reawaken my passion for CAD and all things 3D.

I started learning Autodesk 3DS Max from the age of 16 to develop environments and assets for computer game titles including Call of Duty, CRYSIS and worked in start-up projects with likeminded individuals from all around the world.

The last 18 months I have used my knowledge of 3D modelling and experience within the Airsoft industry to start developing my own brand of 3D printed accessories and upgrades, branded as Badas.Design with which I have achieved success in selling products worldwide.

My passion for everything 3D printing took me to Sweden in 2019 to contribute in the community project at 3D Meetup convention, there I participated in printing and supplying towards constructing a 200+ piece architectural structure, the Equilibrium Pavilion.

In 2019 I also visited Uganda, East Africa to meet up with a youth group who are working towards using 3D printing technology to one day obtain scholarships for local Science based universities. During this visit I discovered their dreams to use 3D printing to develop RC drones for a variety of fields including news and media coverage, crop maintenance and medic supply delivery. I keep in regular contact through social media to see how they are developing their projects whilst offering advice and assistance where possible.

I’m currently studying at Print City towards developing my skills in Fusion 360 and understanding of Additive Manufacturing to later educate and share my experiences with others.
