Johar Hussain

I’m one of the many international students who come to the UK with the aspiration of achieving something big in life. Since a very early age, it was a dream for me to settle in a different country, experience newer cultures, and travel across the globe.

I come from Udaipur, a city in India which is famously known as the “Venice of the East”. I’m an automobile engineering graduate with a strong ambition to enhance my knowledge and skillset to pursue a career in the automotive or F1 industry. Since childhood, my interests revolved around machines and mechanics. At first, I wanted to be a Marine Engineer but then watching Counting Cars changed my mind.

I graduated in 2020 and have work experience of 3 years. I started as an Assistant Engineer in a marine company wherein I got opportunities to serve repair and services to the shipping industry. I got myself to lead a team of technicians on-board a bulk vessel and carry out overhaul maintenance of a 6-cylinder Daihatsu marine diesel engine. Later on, I worked with an automotive service garage where I got to learn to do general maintenance of cars. My last job was with an automotive company, OpenAuto based out of Canada as a Service Advisor.

During my professional journey, I came across additive manufacturing technologies and the world of possibilities they bring with them and hence I decided to pursue my postgrad in Digital Design and Manufacturing. While industries are transitioning to revolution 4.0, I am excited to be ready to help aid this transition and contribute to a better sustainable world.
